The ADMSC would like to extend a huge thank you to the City of Adel and the Dallas County Foundation, for their financial support of a Soil Quality Restoration Project at the Island Park Soccer Fields. With the support of these organizations, our soccer club has undertaken an aggressive treatment plan for some of our most frequently used fields and hope to be able to ensure a safe, and beautiful surface for future players, coaches and spectators for years to come.

This process includes a deep-tine aeration of the fields, followed by an an 1/2 inch to a 3/4 inch compost application, and is followed with a healthy dose of Kentucky Blue Grass seed. This project will help reduce compaction, increases pore space in the soil, and improve the organic matter content of the fields. This improves the health and functionality of soil and the organic matter gives the landscape the ability to act like a sponge and absorb rain.
